Thespis; or, The Gods Grown Old

Anthony Baker and Timothy Henty are pleased to present their performing edition of Gilbert and Sullivan's lost operetta Thespis; or, The Gods Grown Old, which premiered to critical acclaim at the Normansfield Theatre in England, in 2008.

This vocal score contains the complete music for the production as well as the full libretto, as adapted and revised by Anthony Baker and presented in performance order.

An introduction and appendix sheds some light on the process behind creating the version and the score features a preface by Chris Crowcroft. Information about performing licences and orchestral hire materials is also included.

Music Producing/Studio Conducting

In addition to his work as a conductor and arranger, Timothy Henty also acts as a music producer in the recording studio, particularly where orchestras or ensembles of live orchestral musicians are involved. He also conducts sessions, including with his orchestra, the London Kensington Sinfonia.

Timothy Henty acted as music producer for the soundtrack to the recent More Than insurance adverts for radio and television. The commercials feature a score composed by Guy Farley and Christopher Slaski.

The music was recorded at the Smecky Studios in Prague and featured the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with their conductor Adam Clemens. Post production was carried out at Sphere Studios in London.

The adverts first aired on UK television in January 2011.




Timothy Henty acted as music producer at Sphere Studios in London recently for the scoring of the forthcoming Lebanese film Rue Huvelin. The score was composed by Christopher Slaski.


Proyecto Dos

The score to the Spanish film Proyecto Dos ('Project Two') directed by Guillermo Groizard was co-written by three composers. Timothy Henty acted as music producer to the part of the score written by Christopher Slaski, recorded at London's world famous Abbey Road Studio II.



Studio Conducting

Timothy's principal work in the recording studio has been as a conductor. His recording credits include contemporary orchestral works; small ensemble pieces; feature and short films, and commercial music. Most recently he has completed recording Jonas Nydesjö's score to the successful ballet Black Water, premiered in Sweden by the Skånes Dansteater with the Malmö Opera Orchestra. Timothy previously conducted the world premiere of the production at the Malmö Opera House in Sweden.


Films include the soundtracks to Little Ashes and The Goodbye Plane, both scored by composer Miguel Mera. Little Ashes is a feature directed by Paul Morrison which starred Robert Pattinson.
